In wrestling and more specifically, WrestleMania, The Undertaker's undefeated streak was the main attraction and talking point. Around this time of the year, everyone would ponder if anyone would end it.
In 2014, his record read 21-0. Then came WrestleMania 30 and The Undertaker answered Brock Lesnar's "open challenge." The build-up went on from there and anticipation was high. Some wanted the streak to end while others (including myself) wanted it to continue.
What happened next sent shockwaves among the fanbase. Lesnar performed a third F5 for the 1;2;3. There was absolute silence among the audience and the commentary team. Brock Lesnar's manager, Paul Heyman, was just as shocked.
The aftermath is really sad. As The Undertaker was walking back to the locker room; it was learnt that he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
The wrestler suffered a "severe concussion," WWE confirmed on their official website. Details of how exactly The Undertaker sustained his injury hadn't been revealed.
"Following last's night historic match with Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker was immediately taken to Ochsner Medical Center," said a WWE statement.
"After a CT scan and other medical testing, he was diagnosed with a severe concussion and was kept overnight for further evaluation." It added: "He was discharged early Monday afternoon."
For decades The Undertaker had an unbeaten WrestleMania run and a winning streak of 21-0.
He had previously beaten the likes of Triple H (three times); Shawn Michaels (twice) and his kayfabe brother, Kane (twice), in earlier WrestleMania events.
That year he took on Brock Lesnar and, for the first time, was defeated - leaving many fans shocked and the news trending on social media.
To add even more intrigue to this story, The Undertaker has come out and stated that he has no memory of the match.
Interestingly, The Undertaker was set to beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30 until Vince McMahon changed it.
In terms of the aftermath, Brock Lesnar would crush John Cena at that year's Summerslam to become the Undisputed WWE World Heavyweight champion. He would hold onto the title until WrestleMania 31; where he faced Roman Reigns. However, Seth Rollins would cash in his Money in the Bank contract in the middle of the match to perform the "Heist of the Century."
As for The Undertaker, he took a near year long hiatus. He returned the following WrestleMania to face the late-great Bray Wyatt; which the former won.
Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker would cross paths later that year at the PPV event, Battleground. The latter would appear and cost Lesnar his title rematch against Seth Rollins.
The two would clash at Summerslam where The Undertaker would win in a controversial manner.
The two would end things in a Hell In A Cell match at the namesake PPV. Brock Lesnar would end up winning the match.
The Undertaker would continue to wrestle afterwards. He would face Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32 (which he won); Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 (which he lost); John Cena at WrestleMania 34 (which he won) and would win his final match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36. He officially called it quits at that year's (2020) Survivor Series; marking 30 years in the business.
His overall WrestleMania record reads 25-2.
Brock Lesnar continues to perform on a part-time basis. He's set to face Oba Femi at this WrestleMania on 18 & 19 April.

If anything, this proves that good things do come to an end. I was really hoping that this streak wouldn't end. It's a shame really. I suppose the good thing is that each year built more and more pressure. The loss completely evaporated that and created a sense of freedom.
Some can manage and thrive on it while others can easily succumb to it and lose the plot quit easily.
